This vintage 100% maroon wool knit letterman varsity cardigan sweater is made under the Stadium label. Shaker Sweater Co. is also listed on this label. The sweater is V neck with long sleeves that have a ribbed band at the wrist that can be rolled up. Six round maroon plastic buttons close the front of the cardigan. There are slit pockets on each side of the front of the sweater and on the left pocket there is a gold colored chenille wool letter “S” sewn onto the pocket. The pockets are lined on one side with burgundy cotton and knit on the other.
Condition: Very Good
This sweater is really in very amazing condition considering that it’s 100% and considering that it’s over 60 years old. It is very clean with no staining. But, there are three holes in the wool knit. There is one on the back of the neck on the trim banding and another on the right sleeve on the fold on the outer side. And, finally, there’s one more hole on the ribbing at the bottom of the left sleeve. I have pulled all of the holes more open so that I could photograph them and make them more apparent. These holes probably can be repaired, but I have chosen to leave them as found. This sweater can easily be worn and these holes may not even be noticed.
Label: Stadium, 100% Pure Wool, Shaker Sweater Co.
