What a lovely Chartreuse Green woven straw hat this one is and made under the Mr. John Moderne label in the early 1990s. The hat has a dramatic turned up Halo brim and could be classified as a Church Hat. The cap and outer brim of the hat is covered with a beautiful floral cutout fabric that is heavily beaded with iridescent green glass beads. The flowers are done in iridescent pink, blue and yellow fabric. There are also little rosettes made from iridescent sequins scattered throughout this floral fabric that covers most of the hat. The back of the hat including the rounded crown is left uncovered and shows only the green woven straw. On the right side of the cap that holds the hat on the head, there is a green straw bow and there is a pretty hat pin attached through this bow. The hat pin is made from mauve pearlescent round beads with a plastic faux crystal bead. The outer edge of the cap is not wired but fits snugly to the head and is finished with a green grosgrain ribbon trim all the way around. The hat is unlined and does have an inner green Petersham sweatband. This 90s Mr. John Moderne hat has lots of sparkle and although it’s not a huge hat by some comparisons, it does make quite a statement when being worn.
