In 1948, Jean Cassegrain started selling his luxury leather goods in Paris and later expanded his line of items to include such things as women’s clothing and accessories. And here is an absolutely beautiful silk twill scarf with a magnificently detailed print made by Longchamp in the 1990s. The background silk for this design is light blue. The intricate print will keep you busy for a while to take in all of the lovely flowers, butterflies, fruit, berries and even some small snails! Mostly done in yellow, apricot and green, the print has an area in the center that appears to be some writing, but for the life of me, I cannot decipher what it says. This luxury silk twill scarf has a hand rolled and hand sewn edge which is yellow. A delightful creation from Longchamp Paris that truly is wearable art!
Condition: Very Good
This scarf is in good clean condition with the exception of a very small faint spot on the upper left hand corner near one of the fruits. It is barley visible unless you are looking closely for issues. There is a minute pull on one of the petals on the small tan flowers. Once again, this is barely visible unless you are looking for it. This fine silk scarf has seen very little wear and has been gently cared for.
Label: Longchamp Paris
There was a label originally attached to the scarf but as so often happens, the former owner removed most of it with just the bare minimal remaining. The maker’s name and trademark jockey is incorporated into the print and is at the bottom right of the scarf.
