This beautiful flower pot style hat has a body of black wool felt covered with swirls of feathers. Most of the feathers are black but there are white and brown (with a hint of rust) feathers added for interesting highlights. Now, the fascinating thing to me is that there is one, and only one, small teal feather right at the front of the hat! The feathers on the top of the crown seem to come to a slight point in the center which is also a nice detail. There’s a thin black velvet ribbon outer hatband that encircles the base of the crown. A bow is on the right side of this ribbon band and the hat has an inner black grosgrain ribbon sweatband. The feathers have a lovely sheen and very soft and this vintage hat is quite attractive!
Condition: Very Good
The brown spots on the label that appear to be stains are most likely where the adhesive that attached the label to the hat have bled through. And, the little bow on the side of the hat tends to want to flop over on the left side. The feathers are in wonderful condition and the hat is very clean and appears to have been worn very little.
