Behold this rare combination of geometric design and hand-carved green Bakelite in this beautiful pair of brooches.
Though Bakelite is generally not signed, it is possible to make general observations about a particular piece's origin.
According to "The Bakelite Jewelry Book" by Corrine Davidov and Ginny Redington Dawes, combining brass or chrome with Bakelite was much more popular with designers in France, Germany and England.
This pair of pins dates from the 1930s, and are in very good vintage condition, with little sign of wear.
They measure approximately 2 1/2" x 1".
The pin backs are soldered to the chrome.
This richly unique pair of pins will stand out on any lapel from casual to business to formal.
