This is a glorious 14" Newborn Babe by Louis Amberg. Of all the bisque headed babies on cloth bodies, this is my personal favorite. She was designed in 1914 by doll artist and sculptor Jeno Juszko. She is the FIRST example of an infant child made in bisque and was the inspiration for the Byelo made in 1920. She was meant to look like a two day old baby. She's wearing an unbelievable antique baby gown that is 38" of ruffles and lace, a cotton knit diaper and antique knitted booties. Her adorable bisque head is without damage or repair. Her brown eyes sleep easily and her celluloid hands are in great condition. Often elaborate baby gowns like this sell for her asking price. It's like getting this wonderful doll with fascinating history for free!!
