Look at these two wonderful condition dolls! They are both from the 1950s and in excellent shape. Both dolls are hard plastic dolls, jointed at the shoulder and head only. They both have sleep eyes, although the eyes are a little reluctant to open on the nun doll.
The nun doll has a black rayon taffeta skirt, Her white bib is a lightweight vinyl. Her headdress is a combination of the white vinyl and the black rayon taffeta. There is white vinyl underwear glued to the doll. All is in very good condition! There is a split on the left side of the nun's head at the seam.
The graduate doll is dressed in a more deluxe fashion. She has a simple blond mohair wig. She has black underwear sewn in place. A white starched cheesecloth slip is stitched in place. Over that is her nicely-made graduation gown, also sewn in place. There is a white vinyl collar stapled on. Her graduation cap is black felt.
What makes the graduate doll so wonderful is her diploma in her right hand, and the name and school of the graduate who originally owned this doll...."Frances Irean Watt" "Ware Shoals High School" "1952".
What nice dolls to add to your collection of 1950's hard plastic!
