Shown in the accompanying photos is a wonderful antique dress made of white pique with a lavish application of soutache braid. This dress is in very good condition with no repairs. It would be wonderful on a large German or French doll. It is an A-line style dress with a square neckline and pleats in the back waist. There are bands along the side fronts that are trimmed with the old form of rickrack...just so lovely to see. There is a bias white pique band at the bottom that looks original to the dress. Eight mother-of-pearl buttons close the back of the dress. There are some minor condition issues....a small spot on the left shoulder as well as a tiny hole at the armhole seam, the underarm seam on the right sleeve with some stitches undone (not a tear--just pulled out stitches), and a couple of small places where the stitches holding the soutache braid has come loose. I am not the best photographer of white items but I hope I have been able to show you the beauty of this dress!
