Danish 830 standard silver pierced ladle having a large open work dragon finial swallowing what appears to be a stylized squid on the end of the twist handle. The handle shank has Celtic designs and is marked, on the back, with the maker's mark A.F, the Copenhagen 1898 town mark and the assay mark of Simon Groth.
This interestingly ornate pierced ladle is 7 1/2" long and weighs 49 grams or 1.6 ozs. Troy.
There may be an old, well done repair on the end of the handle that does not affect the bowl.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
