Antique Spanish 916 silver large open salt dish, having ornate pedestal base with figural stem, featuring winged mermaid. Base has 4 applied ball feet and two ring handles with shell form thumb pieces. Salt is decorated with applied lobed repousse border. Maker's mark is rubbed.

This outstanding incredibly detailed dish is 6 3/4" tall, 7 1/4" wide across the handles and weighs 328.4 grams or 10.6 ozs Troy.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
