Antique French First Standard (.950) sterling silver oval form gallery tray, having two ornate hollow handles and standing on 4 lion paw form feet. Gallery border features cut-work ivy vine pattern and an applied egg & dart rim. Tray is all over gilt. No monograms. Made by Louis Manaut, 16 Place Dauphine, Paris c. 1829-1838.
This magnificent tray is 17 3/4" across the handles, 15 1/4" long, 12" wide and weighs 1,122.7 grams or 36.2 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
