Danish 830 standard silver sugar shaker, decorated with engraved floral garlands and bows as well as bright cut foliate narrow bands around the body an foot. Square form base is accented with engravings as well. Detachable top features round and diamond-shaped piercings and ornate ball finial. On the front, there is an engraved curly script monograms "SB", reverse is inscribed "1879-15/8-1904". Made by Peter Hertz, Copenhagen, 1902. Assay master Simon Groth. Top, body and base are fully marked.
This splendid shaker is 3 1/4" in diameter, 7 5/8" tall (without the finial) and weighs 306 grams or 9.8 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
