French 1st Standard 950 sterling silver open salt dish, having oval form body with figural border and 4 feet. It is all over decorated with repousse Baroque style patterns, featuring shell, scroll, ribbon elements and foliate branches. Salt has original cobalt blue glass liner. Made for export by Page Freres, 7 rue Reaumur, Paris, c. 1901-1905.
This great salt is 2 7/8" long, 1 5/8" wide, 1 3/4" tall and weigh (without the glass) 17.5 grams or 0.56 ozs Troy. There are minor chips on liner's edge.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
