English sterling silver pair of rounded rectangle form open salt dishes, featuring convex forms, decorated with repousse foliate patterns. Borders are decorated with ornate applied rims. Interior has remains of gilding. Made by Colen Hewer Cheshire, Chester, 1908.
These marvelous salts are 3" long, 2 3/8" wide, 1 1/4" tall and weigh a total 87.8 grams or 2.8 ozs Troy. Salts have a very tiny dent each.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
