Art Nouveau sterling silver small figural picture frame, featuring 4 carnation flowers with wavy stems and leaves. Frame has two supports and small fixed bail on the back. It comes with an embossed brass plaque by G. Devreese, 1901, having scenic depiction of an artisan working in studio; reverse is inscribed (see pictures).
This charming frame is 2 1/8" wide at the widest, 2 1/4" tall, 3/16" thick and weighs 25.4 grams or 0.8 ozs Troy. Plaque is 1 3/4" tall and 1 1/8" wide.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
