The Traveling Bears In New York by Seymour Eaton was published by Barse & Hopkins and has a 1915 copyright by the publisher. The 11 by 7 1/2 inch hardcover book has a color plate frontispiece and glorious illustrations on every page by V. Floyd Campbell; there are several blank endpapers and two pages of advertisements for the publisher's books where on one page these volumes are offered, postpaid, for 40 cents each. The front cover has tears, pricks, and staining and new binding tape was applied at some time, both outside and inside. There's a pencil notation on the first blank endpaper that color plates are missing but in these Barse and Hopkins editions the only color plate was the frontispiece and it's present. The inside pages are in good condition; there's a small tear on the margin of one page and some age staining on other pages. The color plate frontispiece features the Bears with Buster Brown and Tige. These new friends are featured in one of the stories inside: "The Bears At The Wax Museum". The stories and illustrations are fabulous, as is the inclusion of other famous characters. For almost 100 years old, the book has survived nicely.
