Offered is a 1940 Scott Foresman edition of Fun With Dick And Jane, the first edition published by Scott Foresman. Prior to this publisher, the readers were published by Elson Grey and featured the same characters and concepts with a few variations. This reader is a blue cloth over board; it has two school stamps inside the front cover. A young reader traced (and then partially erased) subtitles to two sections and I noticed some small, random pencil marks on two pages. The covers show some wear with scuffing, the corners are bumped, and there's a little wear at the edges. The inside pages are clean and charming, filled with the activities of the iconic characters.
I have listed several of the books from this series, all featuring Dick, Jane, Sally (or Baby, as she was known in the Elson Grey series), Puff, Spot, Mother, Father, even Grandfather and Grandmother. The books listed include a copy of Fun With Our Friends, the last of the series to feature Dick and Jane, an Elson Grey soft cover, one of the three softcover pre primers, and a first grade Health book which features the crew. Shipping can be combined, so if you find these as charming as I do, or if they bring back memories of a simpler time, please take a look at the others.
