Dressed as a clown, this early 1900's rabbit candy container has a squeaker that operates when its shoulders are pushed down. The candy container came out of the Atlanta Toy Museum when its contents were auctioned in 1978; there was an identical rabbit that had its original box that was marked German. It is in very fine condition, on a wire frame with wood hands and feet and glass eyes. Its face is painted paper mache; the ears are stiff paper that was probably paper mached also. The rabbit stands on a covered box that opens and it's carrying a woven basket on its back. The candy container stands 10 1/4 inches tall and the box is 2 1/2 inches across. It's in remarkable condition with a few specks of paint missing on its face and ear and a small scuff on the back of the box top. This one is truly a great find!
