Late 19c. Coal hod with slanted brass lid: This is a refurbished piece. Late 19th century with tooled brass lid. Shovel is original to the piece. Excellent for keeping fire starting items next to the fireplace. Also works as a vegetable bin as it sits comfortably on a standard counter top. 15d x 10 1/4w x 15h including handle. lid is 10 1/4 w x 10 1/2 h.
