This early 20th century coal scuttle, or coal hod, comes with appliqued roses. Beveled edges on front. This piece, not unlike so many old pieces that actually had utilitarian value shows blemish and wear.
The handles are metal pull style in a floral motif. The overall color is black with gold pinstriping around edge and on beveled front panels. The piece is supported by four metal paw feet. It measures 22 1/2" tall, by 10 3/4" wide and is 9 3/4" deep. It was acquired in Charleston, SC.
