This beautifully hand painted minton chamber pot is decorated with ivory ground painted with blue ribbons. Intertwined with the ribbons are pink roses and green foliage on thorned branches. Markings on bottom show Mintons England and according to the ciphers was made in May 1905. This was verified in Kovel's 'Dictionary of New Marks'. The chamber pot is twelve inches tall including lid handle, ten inches in diameter. It is fairly heavy as it weighs approximately nine pounds. The leather or wicker strap which was used to carry the pot is NOT included as it probably deteriorated over time. The piece is in good condition. The lid was professionally repaired as it incurred a chip due to improper handling. A ceramics specialist and artist effected the repair. The last two photos show the resultant hairline crack. Also, there are two negligible chips on the bottom of the pot from normal wear. Insert has no chips or cracks.
