A lovely Majolica oak leaf platter with three acorns. The serving platter has a curling twig handle. It has spectacular glazing, with vibrant colors. Yellows, greens and browns spill all over the curling leaf. The leaf platter measures 12 x 9 inches, and 2 inches tall. This plate dates to the 1870's and is in great condition for its age with no chips or cracks to the piece. It has a potter's mark on the base. Having looked at similar Majolica antique pieces this one can be attributed to French Sinceny Majolica, who began making acorn platters like this one circa 1790. For the condition this piece is in, this is quite a rare and wonderful find!
