Gouda is a loose term to describe the style of Dutch pottery. At the end of the nineteenth century the emphasis moved to decorative wares, and for three decades beautiful art nouveau plates, vases and jugs were made by many factories in the town of Gouda in Holland. Regina was a well known factory in the Gouda region.
