This is a stunning Daum Nancy blown-out glass and Louis Majorelle iron-mounted compote. Having a beautiful mottled orange and red tone glass with areas of gold leaf blown into the surface; a rich visual texture that is a feast for the eyes. The glass is lobed and tapering in form, blown out in the open area the iron mount provides. It is raised on three legs.
Etched in the glass is Daum Nancy with the Cross of Lorraine & L Majorelle.
It measures 6 1/4 inches in diameter and 4 3/4" in height. The metal work is intact with an even, dark finish with no evidence of repair and the glass is in perfect condition. A beautiful example of collaboration between these two art houses of the time. Circa 1930, France.
