This is a rare pair of Unger Brothers Indian Chief cufflinks. These 3/4" Indian Chiefs have all to detail of the larger Unger Indian Chief Line. The detail and crispness is still intact and they seem to have a personality in their stern look. There is a small dent in the back of one of the cufflinks and the makers mark is worn. They have a wonderful patina and are 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/2" and weight 6 grams. Unger Brothers silver was a firm located in Newark, New Jersey. The company was noted for their art nouveau jewelry with repoussé -- that is to say hammered from the back side and/or for cast relief images. They were manufacturing silver from 1872-1914.
