A Courthouse, Minden, Louisiana Sterling Silver souvenir spoon that dates to the 1910's and is a lovely example of some of Manchester Manufacturing Company silver work. The handle of the spoon is very ornate, decorated mostly with fauna and flora of the region, while the bowl of the spoon has an architectural drawing of the courthouse that has been nicely rendered with bright cut work. At the very top of the handle of the spoon there is an image of scales, and in very small text the letters "Justice" are written up top.
Manchester Manufacturing Company made sterling silverware in Providence Rhode Island from 1904-1914. The spoon has maker's marks and is also marked with Sterling. The spoon measures 5-1/2 inches and it weighs13 grams. Makes a great souvenir from Louisiana.
