Stunning Mid-Century Double-Sided Floral Motif Black Beaded Rhinestone Handbag Purse - Hong Kong

We have seen many purses from Hong Kong over the decades, HOWEVER, this is an amazing earlier purse. Thousands of sparkly beads adorn this structured body handbag. It features a floral motif with pastel purple and blue flowers accented with prong-set, sparkling iridescent aurora borealis rhinestones and gold beaded leaves. As if that wasn't enough, this purse is double-sided so the floral design is seen from both sides. It is a larger purse, measuring 7" high from frame to bottom. The black beaded strap is an additional 6.5" high. It is 9.5" wide and the base is 1.5" deep. It weighs 1 lb 2 oz without packing materials. We often find unstructured beaded purses, but this one has a defined shape. It closes with a secure kiss lock closure on its filigree gold-tone metal frame. Simply divine. The interior is jet black silk or satin with an interior open pocket.

This purse is just beautiful and in amazing shape, gently loved by its former owner. Circa 1950s, it is in excellent condition and without loss or damage to the beads. The interior is very clean. The "Made in Hong Kong" label is attached to the interior. We are often disenchanted with the multitude of inexpensive items pouring in from China these days and mistakenly associate vintage Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan items with the like, but this purse is simply divine and demonstrates the artisanship, beauty and pure talent coming from this "Pearl of the Orient."
