Vintage Judith Leiber Swarovski Crystal Tiger Minaudiere with Original Box & Accessories ~ Near Mint Condition.
This RARE, little beauty comes complete with its box, sleeper bag, mirror, comb and coin purse. All are guaranteed authentic.
This purse features an adorable tiger handcrafted with thousands of small, sparkling Swarovski crystals. It has polished goldtone metal accents which are still shiny and in impeccable condition, including the long goldtone shoulder strap (which appears to have never been used).
The shoulder strap can be neatly tucked inside if a clutch is preferred . The gold interior of this bag is created of supple leather and is without tears, rips or stains. There is a push-button closure located on the side of the purse which is in excellent working condition.
This bag is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and will literally take your breath away. There are a few crystals (maybe 7) that are missing on the exterior, but so minimal that they are barely noticeable unless you're searching for them. These crystals can be replaced by most local jewelers, purse repair shops or through Judith Leiber stores. I will leave that up to the buyer of this splendid purse. This handbag is exquisite and perfect for that special night out or important event.
Regarding the legacy of Judith Leiber and her handbags, I obtained the following information from the Judith Leiber website:
"Judith Leiber, the American luxury brand is synonymous with elegance, style, and sophistication. Each product is executed with meticulous attention to detail and flawless hand-craftsmanship. Judith Leiber has re-defined the accessories category with products that are on the cutting edge of high fashion, while always remaining timeless classics. In addition to designing handbags and minaudières, the company also produces eyewear, fur, and cashmere accessories.
Judith Leiber, the founder of the company, was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, where she studied the craft of handbag making during World War II. In 1947 Mrs. Leiber and her husband Gerson Leiber immigrated to the U.S. and after many years working for leading New York handbag manufacturers, Mrs. Leiber launched the Judith Leiber Company in 1963, with the support of her artistic husband. The couple sold the company and retired in 1998.
Judith Leiber creations are a cut above the competition; incomparable in quality and craftsmanship. These artful handbags and minaudières are part of the permanent design collections at The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, The Houston Museum of Fine Arts and the Los Angeles Museum of Art. Adding to Hollywood's nearly 50-year love affair with the brand, almost every First Lady dating back to 1963 has carried these custom-made bags to the U.S. Presidential Inauguration ceremonies. Judith Leiber is truly an iconic American brand.
The collection is available at Judith Leiber boutiques in New York, The Forum Shops in Las Vegas, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California as well as at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman stores. A Los Angeles store opened on Rodeo Drive in the summer of 2009."
