A finely crafted Chamber barrel organ. English circa 1799. Made by the company of Preston, that made domestic and church barrel organs.
There are six stops Diapason, Principal, Twelfth, Fifteenth, Drum and Triangle.
There is a tune sheet for 5 barrels, but the organ comes with # 2,3, and 4. The two barrels not being played are stored inside, under the organ.
The case is in an amazing condition. Built of English walnut, nicely carved. The gilded pipes on the front of the case are for show only. There is a transfer showing the makers name with a coat of arms crown, lion, and unicorn. The knobs of the stops are brass? with an impressed lion head. This is a most attractive case.
The organ plays well, and has a soft voice.
Organ measures 26 1/2" wide x 19" deep x and stands 58" high.
