Very pretty handpainted oval platter, or maybe dresser tray, done by a competent artist,it is signed Juergens, bottom left. The colours are beautiful, fresh light greens and white poppies. There is gilding on the handles, around the edge and some outlining to the painting. The gilding is in very good condition, very very little rubbing, if any. The surface of the plate is in good condition, no scratches. It measures just over 14 1/2" long and almost 9 1/2" wide (the 'just over's and 'almost' are because it measures metric!) The one and only problem I can find is a firing dot at the very bottom, just right of center, Mark, in green, on the back is GDA in script underlined with FRANCE in plain capital letters underneath, for Gerard, Dufraisseix, Abbot. This looks like the mark for 1900 to 1953, but there is no laurel wreath. This piece as no cracks, chips, or crazing.
