Made in Norway by Thorvald Marthinsen, this is a set of three sterling collector spoons from the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. Each spoon in the set features a depiction of the Vatican Pavilion on the bowl with a different image at the top of each handle. All three are embossed "Vatican Pavilion" on the handles. The Vatican Pavilion was one of the most visited venues at the fair because Pope John XXIII allowed Michelangelo's Pieta' to be transported from Rome to be exhibited in the Pavilion.
Each spoon measures 4" long by 7/8" at it's widest. All are in mint condition with no scratches or damage of any kind. The set comes in it's original velvet lined presentation box that is also in excellent condition with no tears or yellowing. Each spoon is marked Th. Marthinsen Sterling, Norway.
