We are proud to offer a very unusual, beautiful necklace made from scarce large, round angel skin corals and Australian boulder opals that are carved into ammonite shapes. The angel skin coral has a center bead that is 18 + mm (it's under pendant's silver top). There are 12 corals of 13.5 mm, & 8 of 9 mm, & 4 of 6 mm. The angel skin coral weights about 53 grams. The cost of coral just keeps rising. Angel-skin coral costs the most, as it is most rare... and beautiful. The Australian boulder opal beads are small master-pieces in themselves. Opals are very brittle & to carve them is very, very difficult. I bet about 10 were ruined for each one carved successfully. I have not seen any beads like these again. Australian opals have gone up in price about five times since I made this necklace. Just round strands cost $2,500.xx per strand! Carved ones are unheard of now-a-days! The pink "angel-skin" frangia are also very scarce. Frangia are very fragile, so they must be treated carefully at all times. The pendant shell is really fun. It is a chambered Nautilus, a light weight, thin-shelled, helmet-shaped creamy colored shell with zebra like stripes. It is set into a sterling bezel. The result of all parts is a beautiful necklace that is about 25" in length. This is truly wearable art!
