This lovely necklace has a large sterling star-burst pendant inset with small round citrines. The necklace has faceted citrine beads and black pearls (cultured). The shiny, black, pitted slightly elongated heads are tektite meteorite beads. The other- worldly beads are millions of years old. Tektites are a kind of meteorite thought to be formed after a comet or large object from outer-space hit the earth. At impact, a large amount of the earth's crust "melted" & splashed so hard it went back out into the earth's atmosphere. Then, this matter re-entered , melted again, & became "pitted" & polished by air turbulence. These little shiny black beads are the result. If you hold them up to sun-light, they are partly transparent and are a yellowish to green color. I think they are amazing. It is wonderful to add a "story" to an already beautiful necklace. These tektite meteorite beads are not available at this time. It seems to be that a storm uncovers them, and they are picked up, and then they are all gone again..until next time! The findings & clasp are sterling.
