This necklace is truly "out-of-this-world". The shiny black "pitted" beads are Tektite, Meteorite beads (Millions of years old). Tektites are a kind of meteorite thought to have formed after a comet or large object from outer space hit the earth. At impact, a large amount of earths crust "melted" and splashed so hard it went back out into earth's atmosphere. Then this matter re-entered , melted again & became "pitted" & polished by air turbulence. These little black beads are the result. If you hold them up to strong sun-light they look green or yellow like they are transparent, like "glass". There are many theories about their origin. They have only been found within a narrow equatorial belt 80 degrees wide, but they have been found in China, Thailand, Australia, & Sahara Desert, etc. They said these were from Sahara Desert. I think they are amazing. I got them a few years ago & have not seen them since. What happens is that they surface after a storm, then they are all picked up, & then they are gone again. The impact they say was from millions of years ago. They are unique & amazing! The green beads are faceted peridot and yellow are faceted Citrine. The findings are gold vermeil. Where can you find such fabulous and Rare Meteorite beads. A bonus is the 75ct. Citrine bead in drop. This necklace is beautiful with a "story" to boot!
