We are very proud to offer an exquisite and very beautiful carved and pierced dark salmon/orange angel skin 18 inch (end to end) coral dragon with Shou beaded necklace. The necklace has 9 barrel shaped beads that range from 20 mm to 24 mm long to 14 mm wide. Each one of these beads has a Shou symbol and crouching dragons. Each is pieced from 25 to 32 times, a lot of “holes”. The more holes, the better. One barrel bead has a smoothed over small chip on the edge. There is a magnificently carved coral rose clasp that is 32.48 mm x 17 mm at widest. It is in a gold plated mount. The necklace weighs 94 grams. There are 8 round -13 mm to 14 mm carved and pierced writhing dragon and Shou beads, also with many holes. The more holes the better. There are also small 8 mm smooth beads. There are also tiny pikake beads. All of the coral beads show effervescence with the lemon juice test. This is a rare, scarce and very sought-after type of Chinese coral beads with dragon carvings. This necklace is Vintage, pre 1920, although it was recently restrung.
