This emerald necklace is green, "The Color of Money". There are gold vermeil beads, also the color of money. The necklace is made of 20 mm carved, melon shaped emerald beads surrounded by 12 mm round emerald beads. The gold spacers work magic for the impressive, yet, simple look. I have a hard time making it simple. I am a gaudy kind of gal. But, not all women want gaudy. So, here are Big earth-mined, natural (real), emeralds from Brazil and they were carved in India. If you hold them up to the light, you can see very many inclusions. Inclusions show they are natural. Emeralds with less inclusions (clean) cost lots more money: $200/ ct - $5000/ ct.. These are lower grade emeralds that have been enhanced with oils & fillers for fractures and dyed with oil for the very green color. Gemstones are nearly all enhanced even diamonds. But, they are really beautiful & quite impressive, being quite large. The emeralds weight about 490 carats. These emeralds may be about grade-B but they would cost $10.00 per carat -$25. per carat in a jewelry store, which would be $4,900.00. This necklace is quite gorgeous. If the emeralds were a very high quality (very clean) the cost would quite possibly be $98,000. These emeralds look Sooo good for the price. Haute- 4- not- a- lot/ Hot- 4- not- a- lot!
