Elegant pair of vintage earrings, circa 1950s-1960's, made by Mikimoto. Mikimoto keeps the highest quality 5% of cultured pearls they produce for manufacturing jewelry under the Mikimoto name and then they sell the rest. So, the Mikimoto name really is more than just a trade name.
Each of these fine earrings has one perfect, creamy white 6mm cultured pearl in the center, set in a curvy Mid-Century sterling silver design. Each earring is hallmarked with the M in clam shell and S for sterling silver on the back of the screwback. These beauties are in the original velvet and satin presentation box.
Excellent condition...seldom or very gently worn. The backs of the screws could be polished, but we leave that to the lucky new owner. A good local jeweler could change the screwback to a post for pierced ears
Size: just under 1/2" by 1/2"
