Here is a beautiful hand painted handled bowl and underplate produced in Vienna n the late 1800's. One side of the bowl features a scene with cupids hunting a rabbit, chasing after him with a bow and arrow. There is a duck at their feet. The other side shows a harvesting scene. One cupid triumphantly holds a sickle and a flag, while the others tow a cart of hay. Wonderful detail and workmanship in these scenes! The scenes are entirely hand painted, and there is raised gold and beading on the pieces. The bowl measures 6" wide and stands 5 1/4" tall to the top of the handles. The underplate measures 7 1/8" across. Both pieces have an underglaze blue beehive mark, and are marked Germany over the glaze. There is no lid, and minor wear to the gold. Otherwise, they are in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
