Here is a stunning art glass basket produced in the late 1800's. Very unusual, it's almost a blending of rainbow glass and vasa murrhina! I believe it is Bohemian, possibly produced by Harrach. The basket has beautiful colors of pink, yellow, and blue. From some angles the decoration appears mottled. From other angles, it appears to form a striped pattern. Thickly enameled gold flowers, vines and leaves adorn the piece. The applied handle is also gilded. There is a ground pontil on the bottom of the basket. It measures 7 1/4" wide, 5" deep, and stands 5 1/4" tall. Other than very minimal wear to the gilding on the handle, this piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
