Here is a great large example of the Indian in canoe decoration prodcued by Nippon. This bowl measures 10" wide and stands 5" tall. This scene depicts the indian in his canoe, holding a rifle, pointing it at birds in the sky. The canoe is by the shore, with trees and cattails at the edge of the land. A colorful border has a repeating design of yellow birds, with red, yellow and purple geometric designs. There is gold beading around the piece, including a gold beaded swag on the exterior of the bowl. The bowl is marked Nippon with the blue maple leaf mark. There is some wear to the gold trim on the piece. This piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
