This lovely pin tests at 14K gold and is in beautiful original condition. The five petals gently overlap one another. A tiny European-cut centrally set diamond is surrounded by a coronet of eight tiny stamens. The light matte finish gives the pin a very soft lustrous bright look. The photo of the back shows the construction technique using small pillars to hold each petal to the adjacent one, giving the flower a naturalistic three dimensional depth.
The pin is unmarked and is probably from the first decade of the 20th century, the Edwardian period. It is made in imitative homage to a certain Russian high-style designer of the time. It will come to you in a gift box.
The pin measures 1 inch in diameter.
