This stunning Japanese cloisonne box was made in Kyoto in the first part of the 20th century by the Inaba company. The sides are solid blue enamel and the top has highly contrasting jewel colored flowers with a flowering vine hanging over them. The enamel is in very good shape with minimal pitting and a few tiny fleabite chips. The interior has lost its finish and the Inaba mark is barely visible.
The color of the blue enamel has a very slight teal tone to it and a little less cobalt than pictured. I have tried but am unable to make a color adjustment.
The box measures 2-5/8 x 3 x 1-5/8 inches approximately.
