Hand Painted Occupied Japan Trinket Box ~ This amazing trinket box has the most intricate hand painted gold borders and gorgeous flowers, such an air of elegance and delicate work. I cannot believe this has survived all these years with such preservation and such vibrant colors.
The porcelain is embedded with bright blue and green, stained in a pattern to accommodate the gold painting on top. The flowers are very bright and beautiful, both on the top lid and the inside. The gold work is masterful ~ swirls, leaves, dots, Greek keys and intricate borders and it covers every surface with such exquisite, symmetrical, free form art.
The trinket box measures 1 1/2" high x 2 1/2" in diameter. All the tiny detail is visible with very minimal wear. The bottom has three pedestal feet, in perfect level condition and the bottom is stamped "Hand Painted Occupied Japan".
This lovely old piece is in magnificent condition. There is not a scratch or chip on any edge or on any of the decoration. This is a fine addition to any decor or collection and it will displays perfectly anywhere you place it.
