4.50ctw Natural Star Sapphire Diamond Ring ~ This gorgeous piece of corundum is a exceptional example of how beautiful and interesting our Mother Nature can be sometimes. The sapphire has an unusually high center, which accentuates a crisp, crawling star in the peak of sunlight. In the right position, the star sits perfectly centered at the height of the cabochon. The first photograph, which shows a double phenomenon, was taken in direct sunlight. The models hand photographs were also taken in direct sunlight.
The sapphire measures 7.80mm in diameter x 6.40mm thick, 4.20ctw and it has a soft glowing moonstone translucence. The stone shows wonderful natural inclusions and the stunning color is medium lilac with highlights of pink. The sapphire is accented by a halo of diamonds, 2 2.5mm and 6 2.0mm, an additional .30ctw. The diamonds are VS2-SI1 F-G and they give the ring beautiful brilliance. The ring holds a total 4.50ctw.
The setting is platinum, it is tested and stamped Platinum. The ring is a size 8, it can be resized and it weighs 4.60g. The face measures 7/16" high (North~South) x 5/8" wide and the tip of the sapphire sits 5/16" up off your finger.
The ring is in excellent original antique condition. The sapphire does show natural inclusions breaking the surface, both on the face and underside, along with slight wear commensurate with age. The stone does not have any cracks or breaks and no gouges. There is no damage to the diamonds and no damage or repairs to the setting.
