Outstanding Coral Jade Flower Pendant Brooch ~ In a league of it's own, this Circa 1970's fine Italian brooch is a complete masterpiece. The flower is carved from a huge piece of natural jade with onyx pollen stems and the butterfly is natural coral with a sapphire and diamonds. The coral butterfly is floating on a bed of gold and is not pinned through the jade, it just floats over the top. The coral has an incredible uniform color and gold inlay. The sapphire is Ceylon blue, 7mm x 5mm, and has a crisp clarity. Little accent diamonds are mounted in the antennas and the eyes. The jade is amazing and the whole piece is just fabulous!
The setting is 18k yellow gold and it is stamped 750 Loffredo. The piece measures 2 1/2" in diameter x approximately 7/8" in thickness and it weighs 47.60g. The setting has a strong pin assembly on the back to wear it as a brooch. The back also has two solid hooks at the top, you can hook this onto a gold chain or over a silk strand to wear with coral, jade or onyx beads. If you want to display this beautiful prize, the pin opens just wide enough to prop this up securely and it stands freely with the butterfly at the top.
The piece is in excellent vintage condition. There are no cracks, nicks or chips in the jade or coral and everything is solid. You will adore owning this very rare and versatile piece of artwork!
