This antique 4 piece ensemble is not one of the newly made out of antique materials. This is a true early French fashion doll 4 piece ensemble. It is hand sewn as you can see the stitching through out the piece. The set has a decorated straw hat ( has issues as shown in photos) that measures 5" in outside diameter with a inside of only 2 1/2". Other than the separation at the crown it is in very good condition. The silks and flowers are great. There is a lace bonnet that went under the straw hat. It shows darker than it really is. It has a tiny brown velvet trim and ties. That measures about 3" tall. It is all hand sewn. It has a few loose stitches and darkened with age. The bodice is a bronze brown with 1/8" gold striped silk taffeta lined with a wonderful early turkey red print cotton calico. It is doubled lined for some odd reason. It measures 4 1/4" long with a sleeve length. a 5" shoulder to shoulder width and a waist of 7" around. It has old hooks and eyes closures. There is a very old lace trim at the neck and sleeve cuffs. There are a few raveling stops like at the bodice back edge and a small holes at the shoulder. The striped calico lined skirt is hand sewn as well. The skirt has 2 areas where it looks like it was repaired. But the inside stitches doesn't show where or why it was damaged. Maybe a practice piece? The skirt measures 10 3/4" long and a very gathered waist of 7 1/4" around. There is a hook and eye closure at the back. It has a few spots here and there but not to bad. I bought this outfit back in the 1990's put it away and just took it out today. It was stored in a scented box. I no longer have the doll I bought it for. It is from a non smoking environment. I can get more pictures if you need them.
