A lovely hand embroidered table runner, this dates to the late Edwardian period or very slightly after, and has all the pretty feminine charm of the period. The runner is in a fine linen and measures approx 32" long by 16" wide, each end has a large butterfly in garlanded swags with flowers, the hand embroidery is self colored and is enhance with cut details, the runner is finished with scalloped edges. The runner is in good condition for the age, there is slight wear to the fabrics and I found a very tiny stain, these are very minor and do not detract. This would be delightful to embellish the center of a table, perhaps with a vase of summery flowers, it would also be perfect on a dressing table to give you an authentic "Downton" look.
