An early 20th century silver plated flower frog by Gorham, this measures 5" diameter and is 2 1/4" tall, it has a double layered pierced construction so that once placed the flowers remain securely in place. The frog was probably designed primarily for silks as I would imagine the finish would deteriorate if it was left for long periods in water, though it would look splendid with fresh flowers for a dinner or lunch in the middle of a table setting. The condition of the frog is good for the age with slight wear to the plating mainly on the edges of the perforations from use, this will not show when it is in use, see photos as part of the description. This is a super old flower frog that would be lovely to use or to add to a collection.
