Lovely small hand painted Kashmir ring or earring box, this comes from India and dates to around the early 1980s. The box is square with a removable lid, it has the rich floral hand painted designs on a black lacquered background, typical of the work produced in the Kashmir region. The box measures approx 2 1/4"" square by 1 3/8" tall, it has very minor wear/chipping to the lacquered finish round the inner rim of the box, this does not show unless the lid is removed and the box displays beautifully. This is a charming little Indian folk art piece that would be pretty on a dresser, I also have several other Kashmir boxes in other listings, and would be happy to combine shipping (these ethnic pieces do look great grouped together) .
