Beautiful antique French porcelain GDA Limoges probably originally intended as a fern stand but which would be perfect for salads, fruit or display. The bowl measures a large 8 1/2" wide by 3" tall and has elegant sponge gilt scalloped top edge, fluted sides, and lovely rose floral spray scattered medallions. The fernier is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or other damage, just very very minor wear to the gilding and floral sprays. Highly translucent hard paste porcelain, this would look wonderful in many environments, lovely filled with rose petals in a bedroom or bathroom, displayed on a sideboard, or as a centerpiece, it has timeless classic elegance.
Fully back stamped to the reverse (see photos) GDA, which stands for Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot, who were the successors to Charles Field Haviland, the back stamp dates the bowl to the very early 1900's.
